Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Details From "Captivate 2011"

Capcom is currently holding a press event in Miami right now and with that said, expect more Capcom news a bit later today. Anyway, nothing screams Capcom without one of their successful franchises, such as Resident Evil. With all eyes on Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, it's pretty definite that this game is going to be on everyone's radar!

Today, Capcom confirmed that there will be a whole set of features such as being able to play as zombies and B.O.W.'s in the game. With more features confirmed, as quoted below, it's hard not to get excited on this new spin for the franchise.

  • Team based shooter set in the dark and sinister Resident Evil universe.
  • Triple threat battle as zombies and B.o.w’s add to the action.
  • Compete alone in Campaign mode as an umbrella Security Service member or in a four player co-op team battle.
  • Rewrite the history of the raccoon City outbreak. revisit classic moments from Resident EvilTM 2 and Resident EvilTM 3 and watch events unfold from the perspective of the umbrella Security Service.
  • Return of favorite RE enemies, iconic landmarks and characters, including leon S. Kennedy who is on your hit list to eliminate.
  • Competitive online multiplayer modes provide a unique gaming experience thanks to the three corner combat between the umbrella Security Service, uS Special ops and threat of zombies and B.o.w’s.

It's also been confirmed that RE: ORC will be released this Winter for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC.

Saints Row 3 Coming This Holiday?

Saints Row has always been Grant Theft Auto's competetion. Why? Because it came out earlier and, to a lot of people, it was actually better than Grand Theft Auto surprisingly. From what I've seen, people had jumped into that bandwagon since, especially since GTAIV was a bit of a disappointment to some.

Well, good news for the hardcore Saints Row fans because leaked pictures of art for the game has appeared on the internet, especially the one above that reveals it's going to be released this holiday on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC.

We had originally been told that this was meant to be unveiled to the world at E3 2010, but Volition, the developer behind the successful games pulled out at the last minute, saying that "We've spent an extra year rebuilding the technology for this game. It is absolutely gorgeous and still completely insane." Let's wonder and speculate what they got in store for us!

Check out the pictures we got here and here, courtesy of those 2 sites

RUMOR: NGP (PSP2) to release in 2012 and priced at $299.99?

Ever since the Tokyo Sony Press Event that happened a few days ago, all of us were blown away by the NGP's (PSP2) system specs, the features, and how pretty damn good games look like on it, but we were never given a price for Sony upcoming handheld. Although, there's always going to be someone who will always get ahead of the game.

From a reliable source, GameStop has the NGP listed in their upcoming games/systems at a $299.99 pricepoint. This makes the NGP $50 more expensive compared to the Nintendo 3DS! What really adds to it is the fact that's even dated for a 2012 release. Like most retailers out there with unnannounced release dates for consoles and games, there's always a "placeholder" release date so that pre-orders can begin. Some of these release dates are almost factual, but only time can tell, especially since the "Super Bowl of Videogames", otherwise known as E3 2011, is just months away.

In my opinion, I was expecting a $249.99 price tag, just like the Nintendo 3DS to compete with it and also the fact that Sony and retailers have been trying to phase out the unsuccessful PSP Go in order to continue selling the PSP-3000.

Is $299.99 too much or just about right? Throw in your opinions!

DC Universe Online Pushed Backed To 2011

Comic book fans and gamers alike will be saddened to know that DC Universe Online has been delayed to 2011. Sony online announced that the anticipated superhero MMO is to be pushed back to 2011 to fine tune the game with the beta that will be starting in November. If you haven't signed up for the beta you can preorder the game before November 15th and have guaranteed access to the beta. SOE is also going to be releasing a collectors edition of the game for the PS3 which will absolutely kill any money I have around that time. Here's the truly remarkable cinematic opening done by Blur the team that has made the two Star Wars: Old Republic  E3 trailers. Enjoy.
