Rewrite History in This New Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Trailer

The more I see, the more excited I am to exterminate zombies that are slowly walking and terrorizing the streets of Raccoon City in this new spin on the Resident Evil franchise. Today, Capcom has released a new trailer for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, entailing who we will be playing as and what objectives we need to complete when playing as either the U.S.S. (Umbrella Security Service) or Government Spec Ops.

The role of the U.S.S. is to contain the details about the outbreak; exterminating all police officers, covering your tracks - to not let any information about the situation going on in the city. With that said, one of your targets is actually Leon S. Kennedy, the hero from Resident Evil 2. Obviously, Spec Ops will be trying to uncover the truth about the outbreak in Raccoon City.

With Leon, being your target, this gives all players the oppurtunity to rewrite the history of Resident Evil by killing him. In the end of the trailer, Leon gets assaulted by a U.S.S. soldier the killing him. Who knows how fans will take this, but it's new take and can also get some interest from franchise veterans.

Capcom Celebrates Resident Evil's 15th Anniversary with Trailer

Resident Evil, my personal favorite franchise of the old days when survival horror was good has turned 15 years old this year and with that, Capcom gives us a trailer to show us what's up next for the successful franchise.

In the trailer that we see, the infamous Albert Wesker gives us a monologue about how powerful the viruses in the previous games has always been, dating back from Resident Evil for the original Playstation to Resident Evil 5 for the current-gen. After his little speech, we see 4 "bites" of what will be released this year, including Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D for the Nintendo 3DS, Resident Evil: Code Veronica X and Resident Evil 4 ports for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in HD, and Resident Evil: Revelations, which is what I'm personally excited for, that will be released for the Nintendo 3DS as well.

At the very end of the trailer, we see a very small snippet of that upcoming Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, being developed by Slant Six. What we do see portrayed in the small amount of time we're given is Leon S. Kennedy, the hero from Resident Evil 2 just arriving in Raccoon City, seeing the devastation happening before his eyes, along with what was Mr. X, another boss that was in the same installment.

Enough of you reading what I have to say, just check it out!

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City's Debut Trailer

With information about Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City getting let out little by little, it was about time to see a debut trailer for the upcoming game from the Resident Evil franchise.

Judging from what we're seeing, yeah, it's gonna be a more fast-paced game compared to the previous installments, especially since Slant Six is the developer behind this. I'm hoping that if it's at least done right, this game will be pretty dope. Nice too see that we keep going back to the good 'ol Raccoon City; where it all went to hell and actually play through it.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Announced

In a early look at next month's Xbox Official Magazine (May issue), Slant Six has unveiled their next project Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City. In the game, you take the role of one of four Umbrella's USS squad members, named Vector, Beltway, Bertha, and Spectre, that tried to contain the outbreak in the city during the events of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. Obviously, if you're familiar with the Resident Evil classics, USS are heavily armed and are ready to take down the undead, until their demise.

Being a co-op game, it's very reminiscent to my favorite and underrated game, Resident Evil: Outbreak, which was ahead of it's time. Now, it does sound like it'll be more action-oriented, which some may get turned off by because it does sound very similar to Left 4 Dead.

As a fan of classic Resident Evil, I'm hoping that there are scares and not about "shooting on sight" like most games are now, but with games nowadays, it may end up going that way, but I'm not saying that it's a bad thing. As long as it's done "right" with Resident Evil, I'm okay with it

Slant Six's last and recent game to be released was SOCOM: Confrontation. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will be coming out on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
