DC Universe Online Free to Play Announcement

A while back it was reported that DC Universe Online would be going free to play. Lately rumors have been going around about the date when the game officially goes free to play. On the DCU Facebook page EP Lorin Anderson gave the fans the truth.

" We have not actually stated an official date yet but we are working hard and making great progress and we are close.  We do want to make sure that everything is ready before we announce a date but we will try and give you plenty of advance notice when it will happen."

He later went on to say:

"The maintenance and patch happening today on the PC Servers and soon on the PS3 ones are one of the final steps in getting ready."

With the game going free to play it's very likely that the fanbase for the game will go up.

DC Universe DLC Is Now Free and Dated!

"In Brightest Day, In Blackest Night, No Evil Shall Escape My Sight, Let Those Who Worship Evil's Might Beware My Power, Green Lantern's Light!"

The first downloadable content for DC Universe Online "Fight for the Light" has both gotten a release date and priced. It will be hitting the States on Tuesday, September 6th.

This adds three new missions that will allow your character to become a member of either the Green Lantern Corps or the Sinestro Corps.

This was originally going to be $9.99 but SOE said it dropped the price as a reward to it's loyal players.

DC Universe Online Pushed Backed To 2011

Comic book fans and gamers alike will be saddened to know that DC Universe Online has been delayed to 2011. Sony online announced that the anticipated superhero MMO is to be pushed back to 2011 to fine tune the game with the beta that will be starting in November. If you haven't signed up for the beta you can preorder the game before November 15th and have guaranteed access to the beta. SOE is also going to be releasing a collectors edition of the game for the PS3 which will absolutely kill any money I have around that time.
