Lollipop Chainsaw Getting Published by Warner Bros. for Western Release

Suda 51's games have forever given us the impression of "WTF?" throughout these recent years and it doesn't seem like that'll ever stop, which is a good thing! Even though Shadows of the Damned was just released not too long ago, Grasshopper Manufacture (Suda 51's development studio) has just gotten their next game revealed. Not to mention that publisher Warner Bros. Interactive has already picked it up for a Western Release with the help of Kadokawa Games, the game's Japanese publisher.

Below are parts from the official press release:

"Our exciting partnership with KADOKAWA GAMES allows us to try something new by bringing a very unique game like Lollipop Chainsaw to Western markets," said Martin Tremblay, President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. "GRASSHOPPER MANUFACTURE's games have shown tremendous success with gamers around the globe and we are delighted to expand our portfolio of Japanese-developed games."

"We are looking forward to partnering with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on our first entry into the HD console market," said Yoshimi Yasuda, President of KADOWAKA GAMES. "We are also thrilled to have a team like GRASSHOPPER and talent like Suda51 creating such an interesting and distinct game for us to work with and bring to the fans."

If you're a fan of Suda 51 like I am, keep your eyes peeled for this and be ready to say "WTF?" as trailers start coming in.

Shadows of the Damned Delayed

Originally slated for a June 7th release, EA and Grasshoper Manufacture have announced that Shadows of the Damned has unfortunately been delayed. The good thing though, is that it's not by much. It has now been pushed back to the end of the monh with the new release date, which is June 21st.

It's understandable that it has been delayed due the recent events that happened in Japan, but with a great set of icons from the game industry; Shinji Mikami, Suda 51, and Akira Yamaoka, it gives me the feeling that it'll be worth the wait.

Shadows of the Damned to raise hell June 7

Today at the Game Developer's Conference, EA and Grasshopper (who are collaborating for this title) announced that Shadows of the Damned will release this summer, on June 7th.

In case you don't know anything about this game, let's fill you in! Suda 51, the man behind cult hits such as Killer7 and No More Heroes is behind this game, but that's not all if that gets you interested. As some know, Shinji Mikami, the man behind the legendary survival horror franchise "Resident Evil" left Capcom after Resident Evil 4 for better things. The same goes for Akira Yamaoka, who had worked on the music for the Silent Hill franchise when he was employed at Konam, who left after Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. Little did we know, it had been confirmed that all 3 will work together and collaborate with EA to make this; Shadows of the Damned.

Shadows of the Damned had been announced at last year's Tokyo Game Show, aka TGS 2010, but not much has been revealed since, besides it's first trailer:

During the unveiling of the game's release date, it's been said that Shadows of the Damned was inspired by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez films, such as Grindhouse. They also stated that it will "forever change the way gamers perceive puzzles, combat, and action.".

As a fan of all 3 and fun over the top awesomeness and hilarity, I want to see more of this as time goes on!
