RUMOR - Alan Wake: Night Springs to be Next Title in Franchise, Xbox Live Arcade Title?

Very recently, Remedy had confirmed to Joystiq after being rumored that an Alan Wake 2 was indeed in development, according to an artist's resume after some speculation. Fact of the matter is that Remedy had told Joystiq that the next installment in the franchise was in fact being in development, but it was neither a sequel or form of DLC that was being worked on. Since then, many wondered what this project was all about to begin with, until an Xbox Live Arcade fan site, allegedly acquired some information.

The fan site, xblafans.com, has talked to what they call, "an extremely trusted source," about what many speculated about. Alan Wake: Night Springs was "confirmed" by this trusted source and also had given the site some screenshots, but xblafans.com was told not to put them up at all at this time.

The fact that this game is its own standalone game did throw me off a little, not to mention an Xbox Live Arcade game, but you never know. Remedy might just have something up its sleeves. It better be good!

[Update] Monday Night Combat DLC Releasing "This Week"

Monday Night Combat's 2nd DLC "Uncle Tully's Funland" is schedualed for release "This Week" on Steam.  Unfortunetly, after asking for clarification, I was told "Just Steam right now."  But, Uber Ent has said there will be a total of 3 DLC packs coming out for 360 so keep your hopes up that it won't be too much longer.

The new DLC is supposed to include the new map "Uncle Tully's Funland" along with a new character and more balance changes.

[Update] Now with confirmed Double Rainbows: http://www.uberent.com/images/screens/mnc_uncletullys_01.jpg

Trenched - Double Fine's Next Xbox Live Arcade Game

Anyone else notice how Double Fine is making a crap ton of games right now? They already have recently released Stacking and before that they released Costume Quest. Now they have their upcoming Sesame Street Kinect game and this in the works? Not that I'm complaining, but they're a power house of a development studio right now, ha!

Anyway, Double Fine's next upcoming title, Trenched is a new mecha game to be released for Xbox Live Arcade. Kotaku points out that the description for the game is as follows:

"Join The Mobile Trench Brigade and protect humanity from the evil Monovision menace in this Tower Defense Shooter from Tim Schafer's Double Fine Productions. Use a combination of mobile firepower and stationary defenses to turn the tide of war in our favor. Customize your trench with thousands of possible loadouts. March side by side with allies from around the world as you fight your way through Europe, Africa, and the Pacific."

As a fan of Double Fine, they always have a unique take on different genres and I'm curious to see how this'll play.

Ms. Splosion Man

Filed under the "Let's Make John Really Happy" category of games the guys at Twisted Pixels creators of Comic Jumper, The Maw, and Splosion Man comes a new game. Ms. Splosion Man. The original Splosion Man was a challenging 2D platformer that was released on XBLA last year, to much rejoice. 2D platformers are a lost art so when the original Splosion Man came out I couldn't stop playing it.

Now we're getting a sequel staring a female version of the exploding hero. A whole new game that promises to be different enough from the original Splosion Man that it feels fresh while still holding similarities to the original for die hard fans. Check out the trailer below and be happy. Ms. Splosion Man will be dropping on XBLA fall 2011.

I can't wait.
