Mercenaries, the much beloved mode in Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, which had previous iterations in the past games, will have it's own standalone version of all the classic levels with old and current characters, on the Nintendo 3DS. Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D was one of many games that showcased the power of Nintendo's new handheld at last year's E3, with no exact release date. Today my friends, we have gotten that release date, which is this summer on the 28th.
Capcom has put out a trailer to announce this. All in all, it's pretty damn cheesy, ha. Check it out!
Along with some information about the upcoming Nintendo 3DS exclusive, Capcom has also given us a new trailer from the event in Miami, Florida. Before we get to the trailer let's give you the deets on what's been confirmed!
Almost all of the best characters from all of the Resident Evil games are playable such as Chris Redifield, Claire Redfield, Jack Krauser, Rebecca Chambers, Hunk, Jill Valentine, and Albert Wesker. With all of these chracters confirmed, it's not a bad idea to reminisce the old school games, so that's why, as most of us all know, is that levels from Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 will be making a return in this game - specificially the ones that were featured in the Mercenaries modes in both titles.
With this game being accessibile to newcomers, Capcom had to put some features to appeal. One feature that most games have and even gamers have been asking for in Resident Evil is the ability to move in shoot, letting go of the old formula of the old games where you only stand and shoot, which has been present since the old days. A first for Mercenaries though is the capabilites of customizing your characters, whether it's weapon layout to skills! Like Resident Evil 5, The Mercenaries 3D will have Co-Op; online Co-Op to be exact, via Wi-Fi and Ad-Hoc!
Every Nintendo 3DS game that we've covered here seem to have something that surely is impressive and Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is without a doubt one of them. Me, I'd much prefer Resident Evil: Revelations and can't wait to see more of it when it comes closer to its release.
Anyway, here's the trailer from the Capcom Captivate Event. Also, be sure to check out the screenshots for the game right here, coming straight from Capcom
