Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3D Details from Captivate 2011

Along with some information about the upcoming Nintendo 3DS exclusive, Capcom has also given us a new trailer from the event in Miami, Florida. Before we get to the trailer let's give you the deets on what's been confirmed!

Almost all of the best characters from all of the Resident Evil games are playable such as Chris Redifield, Claire Redfield, Jack Krauser, Rebecca Chambers, Hunk, Jill Valentine, and Albert Wesker. With all of these chracters confirmed, it's not a bad idea to reminisce the old school games, so that's why, as most of us all know, is that levels from Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 will be making a return in this game - specificially the ones that were featured in the Mercenaries modes in both titles.

With this game being accessibile to newcomers, Capcom had to put some features to appeal. One feature that most games have and even gamers have been asking for in Resident Evil is the ability to move in shoot, letting go of the old formula of the old games where you only stand and shoot, which has been present since the old days. A first for Mercenaries though is the capabilites of customizing your characters, whether it's weapon layout to skills! Like Resident Evil 5, The Mercenaries 3D will have Co-Op; online Co-Op to be exact, via Wi-Fi and Ad-Hoc!

Every Nintendo 3DS game that we've covered here seem to have something that surely is impressive and Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is without a doubt one of them. Me, I'd much prefer Resident Evil: Revelations and can't wait to see more of it when it comes closer to its release.

Anyway, here's the trailer from the Capcom Captivate Event. Also, be sure to check out the screenshots for the game right here, coming straight from Capcom

Resident Evil: Revelations demo included in Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D

In Capcom's press release, they announced that a demo for Resident Evil: Revealtions will be included with Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, when it releases.

As a fan of old-school Resident Evil, I'm pretty damn excited for this one. It's been confirmed that in this installment, Resident Evil will be going to back to its roots; survival horror. In my opinion, this is kinda weird, due to the fact that it's getting done on the handheld.

With the franchise going towards a more action-oriented genre since the success of Resident Evil 4, it questions me that they keep going back and forth between the 2 "formulas" for the series. I hope that Revelations is a damn good game, especially on the 3DS.

With that said, nothing has been announced since the reveal at E3 2010. To see the original reveal, check out the video below

Master Quest Confirmed for Ocarina of Time 3DS

The much anticipated 3DS version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will feature the Master Quest option. The announcement was in an interview at GDC last week.

Master Quest was originally put in the Gamecube version of Ocarina of Time and rearranged all of the games dungeons and items providing a more challenging experience for hardcore players. I never played Ocarina of Time on the Gamecube so I never experienced Master Quest. It does however make this Zelda re-release all the more exciting.

The Nintendo 3DS is launching March with The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3DS launching sometime in June.
