Final Fantasy Versus XIII Isn't Even in Full Production

So what's new with Final Fantasy Versus XIII? Nothing really! I mean, hell, we haven't heard anything about it since it got showcased at Square Enix's "1st Production Party Premiere Event" all the way back in January. Well besides the whole tease that we got from Tetsuya Nomura in Famitsu a few days ago about a supposed Kingdom Hearts III, Nomura had shed some light about the very long awaited Versus XIII. What we got was the fact that it still isn't even in full production...wait, what?

Courtesy of Andriasang, who did the translation from this interview, here's what Nomura had said.

"Since we’re still taking on so many new development challenges, the team is still made up of the core members. Right now, we’re making preparations to go into full production."

We haven't seen anything since the Premeire Party event, as previously stated, but here's the trailer we did get to see. Some drama here and there, but about halfway through is when the gameplay really kicks in. Very reminiscent to Kingdom Heart's, no?

All that all of us really can do is wait, much like any other anticipated Square Enix title.

Square Enix Crafting Another MMO, Big Question, Why

Square Enix is undoubtedly one of the biggest publishers in the industry. When it comes to MMO's though they've never had the best track record. Final Fantasy XI was never a smash success (though it did gain a cult following), and Final Fantasy XIV... well we all know how that worked out. Still Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada still believes they can make money off the MMO realm.

A transcript posted yesterdays of Square's May 13 earning call -Translated by Andriasang- Wada stated that they do have a new MMO title in development and that they hope to release more info about it this fiscal year. No word on what this new title is, but it's something seperate from their current games. The belief is that having two-to-three subscription based games will help the company maintain a cash flow.

In all of this news, Final Fantasy XIV is still broken. Wada did bring up those problems and illude to the fixes taking longer than expected, but a "target" is in site.

Final Fantasy Agito XIII renamed to Final Fantasy Type-0

As more info from Square-Enix's "1st Production Premiere Event" party keeps rolling out, so does more Final Fantasy.

Originally titled as Final Fantasy Agito XIII, Final Fantasy Type-0 (part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis collection, which includes Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII) has had a new trailer revealed. Not to much is known about the game just yet, but here's hoping that more info starts getting released after this event.

Credited as before, nyaon60 has put up the trailer on YouTube for our viewing pleasure

Before the renaming of this game, Square-Enix had mysteriously trademarked Type-0 along with Type-1, Type-2, Type-3. Is this supposed to be a series? I think so!

Final Fantasy XIV Team Restructuring, PS3 Version Delayed Indefinitely

Final Fantasy, you love it or you hate it. I love the story driven iterations, some love the MMO's versions, I do not. Still those fans now have something to be upset about. The PS3 version of Final Fantasy XIV which was supposed to be released March of next year is now delayed indefinitely.

What has caused this delay, the answer is because the PC version is horrible. Yoichi Wada Square Enix CEO released a statement to the FFXIV community apologizing for the game not being very good. He went on to say that the team is restructuring, with some new leadership coming in. Producer Hiromichi Tanaka is out, with Naoki Yoshida taking over as lead producer/game director, other positions are also being restaffed with the team working on a new direction for the game. Until this happens FFXIV will continue its free trial period.

So rather than base the PS3 version on a horrible mess of a game Square Enix decided to hold off until something better was made. Thus sparing us from a terrible PS3 game.
