Mass Effect 2 PS3 Details Revealed

Details on the PS3 version of the hit RPG Mass Effect 2 have been revealed. As suspected the DLC that has come out for the 360 version will be included. The biggest question is of course how will PS3 gamers be introduced to the story of Mass Effect 1 since it was published by Microsoft and obviously won't make it to Sonys big black box. The answer will disappoint you. Gamers will have the option to play an interactive comic that will connect ME1 to ME2. Also the "6 Hour Exclusive Mission" piece has been revealed and was little more than a translation error. BioWare producer Jesse Houston said that the 6 hours is all the DLC combined. Mass Effect 2 ships out in January for the Playstation 3.

Battlefield Play4Free Starts Tactical Maneuvers Spring 2011

EA announced Battlefield Play4Free this morning, a free to play premium title that will support 32 player online combat. The game will activate in Spring 2011 but signing up for the beta could have you playing as early as November 30. Aesthetically the game is a major departure from EA's last free to play game Battlefield Heroes which was colorful and incredibly cartoonish.

DICE's BP4F will combine maps from Battlefield 2 and weapons/classes from Battlefield Bad Company 2. Player will be able to drive 16 different vehicles including a Fighter Jet, and of course players will be able to level up skills or deck their soldier out with some cool stuff.

Ron Gilbert Joins Double Fine (Now It's More Like Triple Fine)

Back in the heyday of PC gaming LucasArts was one of the top dogs. Whether it was with Star Wars games like "X-Wing" "Tie Fighter" or their comedic adventure games like "Day of the Tentacle" "Maniac Mansion 2" and "Full Throttle". Two of the devs from LucasArts, Tim Schafer and Ron Gilbert went on to become renowned funny-men of the comedic genre. Things have now gone full circle as Ron Gilbert has joined Schafer at Double Fine Games which is a major pickup for the San Francisco based developer. Gilbert has more recently been known for his work on the smash hit "DeathSpank" while Schafer and Double Fine are at work on multiple "bite sized" titles. Their upcoming title "Costume Quest" will be released on Halloween and from the way it looks, DF will make more money on that than they did on Brutal Legend. (Sad Face)
