Hail to the King, Baby! Duke Nukem Forever gets a new trailer & ships May 3rd!

The Duke is back, guys! After years of delays when it was in development at 3D Realms, GearBox Software who is now in charge of the game has officially announced that Duke Nukem Forever will be available on May 3, 2011.

GearBox Software had become the new developer behind the long overdue title in the series when it made its playable debut at the Penny Arcade Expo 2010 in Seatle, Washington.

With the announcement of the release date, GearBox Software has released a new trailer along with it. The over the top trailer was shown at PAX 2010 to attendees, but due to it not coming out until now was the fact that it was a bit to "extreme". We do however have a censored version, but it's better than nothing!

Duke Nukem Forever had originally begun development at 3D Realms in 1997. After delays and numerous game engines used, 3D Realms had laid off staff and closed down due to lack of funding on the game. Take-Two sued 3D Realms for not completing the game, but the lawsuit has since been settled. GearBox became the new studio to finish development on Duke

Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer, and Raven Software Developing Modern Warfare 3?

According to the LA Times' "Company Town Blog",  Infinity Ward is reaching out for help in the development of Modern Warfare 3, the title that is supposedly in development, even after Vince Zampella and Jason West getting let go from the company.

Both G4TV.com and Joystiq report that Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software are currently going to be the studios backing up Infinity Ward. As far as Joystiq knows, Raven Software will be the ones handling the muliplayer, while Sledgehammer is yet to be confirmed on what they'll be doing in this rumored project

Sledgehammer Games was formed after Glen Schofield left Visceral Games when development of Dead Space had been completed. The studio was also due to develop its own Call of Duty title at the time of being founded, but yet to officially announce their title.

Raven Software's most recent game was Singularity.

Final Fantasy XIII-2's trailer (NOW IN ENGLISH)

As you know, during Square-Enix's 1st Production Premiere Event, trailers were shown off for games, such as Final Fantasy Type-0, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Kingdom Hearts 3DS, and of course Final Fantasy XIII-2.

To this day, I will never understand why Square-Enix always keeps their trailers "confidential" and always pulls them from YouTube, but this morning, they just put up the English dubbed version of Final Fantasy XIII-2's trailer for all of us who don't understand a lick of Japanese, obviously being the majority of everyone.

Anyway, like everyone does say, the beginning of the video does contain end-game spoilers for Final Fantasy XIII once you start the video, so watch at your own risk!

Enjoy!

Nintendo 3DS - Price, Release Date, Launch Games, and More!

Today, in New York City, Nintendo held a preview event to reveal more info regarding the new handheld, Nintendo 3DS. Before the event, there had always been rumors regarding the price, release date, launch games, and what else the console can do itself. With DS already a seller, Nintendo's stepping it up in what will be the next evolution in handheld gaming.

In North America, Nintendo 3DS will be launched in 2 colors, Aquablue and Cosmos Black,  on March 27th in retailers with a 249.99 price tag, making the original Japanese price point (¥25000, $308) off by almost $50. Europe will have it 2 days before, on the 25th also selling at a 249.99 price tag and the UK having it with a 229.99 price tag.

Many features that will be included will be the ability of taking 3D pictures, compatibility with DS games, downloading GameBoy and GameBoy Color games from what will be called Nintendo e-Shop (having Super Mario Land as the first confirmed title up for download when the 3DS launches). What will also be included in Nintendo e-shop is the ability to download trailers and demoes of games! Mii Maker which is very much-like the Mii Channel on the Nintendo Wii, is built-in so that you can customize your very own avatars as well.

With many people complaining about mulitplayer with friends online, Nintendo has planned ONE friend code for each user to share for ALL games (HOORAY) and if someone is in your Wi-Fi network, friend codes will not be shared and players will be able to join games instantly.

From the March 27th release in North America, Nintendo plans to have at least 30 3D games released up until E3 2011. What about launch games? Well, they have a good decent amount games lined up for release day, 3 of them being First Party and 9 of them being 3rd Party, totaling up to 12 games that are confirmed at least. As more publishers release their titles of games, the list will be updated as needed to be

  • Pilotwings Resort
  • Nintendogs + Cats
  • Steel Driver
  • Dead or Alive
  • Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D
  • Madden NFL
  • Super Street Fighter IV 3D
  • Asphalt 3D
  • Combat Giants: Dinosaurs 3D
  • Ridge Racer 3D
  • Resident Evil: The Mercenaries
  • Lego Stars Wars III: The Clone Wars

With many people already pre-ordering at GameStop and Amazon.com, some can't wait! With that said, Nintendo is sending out 5,000 Nintendo 3DS demo kiosks to retailers for buyers to try out before release.

Almost all of Nintendo's system launches have always been successful and from the look of things, this may yet again be another popular seller making Nintendo, in my opinion, the head-honcho of family and handheld gaming

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance trailer revealed

Who's to say that Square-Enix's 1st Production Department Premier event only had Final Fantasy? Well, it's not true since Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance had a debut trailer unveiled. Like previous trailers, it's in Japanese, awaiting to be subtitled.

From what we see, we will be seeing some of the same old gameplay elements with brand new impressive actions you can do.

Now, I'm a fan of RPGs, Kingdom Hearts being one of them, but never even finished any of the games, but hopefully when I can, I'l sit down and go through them and finally see why fans of the series are crying in joy after seeing this trailer.

Kingdom Hearts 3DS was originally revealed at E3 2010 at the Nintendo Press Event and will be released on the Nintendo 3DS
