The Gamerzitch Weekly Wrap-Up for 7/15/11

Things are starting to pick up finally after post E3, which is a great thing. Keeps us over here on Gamerzitch busy for damn sure. Actually, what have you been all doing for the past few weeks? The Gamerzitch Weekly Wrap-Up for 7/2/11

Heyo! Slow weeks still continue post-E3, but it's slowly picking its feet up with things, which we did post, but hopefully next week, things will start popping up again! For now at least, this is what we got! It's not much, but hey, it's something!

• Gamers rejoice! The Supreme Court upholds the constitutional rights of video games!
• Respawn Entertainment finally launches their website and teases their upcoming game
• Call of Duty has its own convention. Weird? Yes, but it's for a good cause!
• Split/Second development studios, Black Rock Studios, is planned to close up shop
• Jake Livak talks about Game Design and Balancing in this week's Variety Friday
• Jake Livak also gives his opinions about the differences between Retro Games and Modern Games in this week's 2nd Variety Friday

The Gamerzitch Weekly Wrap-Up for 5/27/11

News has been slowing down little by little each week. Why? Well E3 is coming up so every developer and publisher is getting ready to showcase games for the expo. However, that doesn't mean that things haven't happened all week. With a few cool tidbits this week, don't be alarmed. The rest of the big announcements will come in on the 2nd week of June!

• Our very own John Callahan reviews L.A. Noire
• Sony may be cutting out the PSP in favor of their NGP, but that's not stopping them from remastering PSP Games to play on your PS3 in HD
• Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 gets its premiere gameplay trailer. Yup, it's awesome
• The Playstation Store did not return on May 24th and still isn't up. Wonder when it'll be back up..
• It's done...it's finally done! Duke Nukem Forever has gone gold!
• We've waited long enough, but we finally get our first look at Dead Island gameplay - a full 12 minutes!
• Are you a Gears of War fan? Like a BIG Gears of War fan? Well then, get your replica Retro Lancer with your copy of Gears of War 3. Just be sure to cough up some extra cash though
• Call of Duty: Black Ops is still selling like crazy, which is why Sony has a new PS3 Bundle that comes with it!
• Square Enix is working on a new MMO, but what MMO could it be?
• The developers Turtle Rock Studios, the studio behind the Left 4 Dead games is now working with THQ to get another game going
• The next Ninja Gaiden installment gets some details out
• In this week's Variety Friday, Jake Livak talks about RPGs: how they've changed these days, how some may struggle in today's standards, and some that have even sticked to their roots.

The Gamerzitch Weekly Wrap-Up for 5/13/2011

Bit of a slow week until just a few moments ago (as I type this up), but the biggest news definitely had to be something that we all saw coming after many, many info leaks and the fact that it's such a big franchise; Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has officially been announced! Now, Black Ops, was okay, wasn't amazing, but Modern Warfare definitely tops all of the Call of Duty games in my opinion.

All in all, this was such a perfect way to end the week with a bang! To the weekly wrap-up! Onward!

• Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has officially been announced
• Alan Wake 2 on the way? Sources said it was a rumor, but now, it's official. It's neither a sequel or DLC though
• The Playstation Network is still down, unfortunately, but Sony has it's own deadline to have all of it's features up by the end of the month
• Diablo 3 has a beta coming during the summer. Could it possibly come out this year?
• The Tomb Raider reboot may have gotten a part of its script leaked!
• The long-awaited Hitman sequel, "Hitman: Absolution," has gotten its first teaser trailer. Official unveiling to be at E3 2011
• Before Modern Warfare 3 was officially announced, Call of Duty rumors popped up, including Activision's plans for the franchise with Project Beachhead
• The new revamped version of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater for the Nintendo 3DS coming in November
• Demon's Souls spiritual successor, Dark Souls is coming this October and has its first trailer
• Kick some zombie ass this summer because Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is coming on June 28th
• Fighting fans rejoice! Soul Calibur V is coming in 2012!
• Namco Bandai is going the way of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and Resident Evil: Degeneration with their own CG Film, Tekken: Blood Vengeance, which has been announced
• Last week, it was announced that Fallout: New Vegas was getting 3 DLC packs. This is the first one, "Honest Hearts," which gets its first trailer
• Get your old-school arcade gaming on with the announcement of Mortal Kombat Arcade Collection for Xbox Live and the Playstation Network, available this summer
• The Nintendo 3DS eShop will finally launch this summer, on June 6th
• Just hours before the official Modern Warfare 3 announcement, there was a crapton of info leaked. 
• In addition with the Playststin Network being down, Sony Online Entertainment is also still down, but they will be compensating players as soon as it gets back up
• OnLive gets some cool pre-order deals
• The hacking continues, but with someone else. Eidos and Deus Ex websites have been breached
• This upcoming Tuesday, L.A. Noire finally releases and Rockstar Games releases its launch trailer
• Games have come a long way, spurring new ideas and such, but Innovation Isn't Gone, according to Jake Livak's Variety Friday!
