Ninja Gaiden 3 Details Emerge, New Take on Difficulty and "Complex Multiplayer"

New Ninja Gaiden 3 details have been revealed in the latest Playstation: The Official Magazine (via VG247). Perhaps detail on display here is that the game will feature a "complex multiplayer mode," though no more info about that has been released yet.

We had also previously heard that the third game in the Ninja Gaiden series will show a more human side of protagonist Ryu Hayabusa, this will be achieved by taking the game in a darker direction.

“We are trying to take the violent concepts even deeper and make people realize how it feels to actually kill someone and what it is to actually gut someone." Says project lead Yosuke Hayashi. “It’s very important to us that people realize that violence is not only about blood and gore.”

Another thing the Ninja Gaiden series is known for is its punishing difficulty, the third game will take a different approach to the difficulty aspect.

“We are taking a slightly differnet approach. It’s not that the game’s going to be easier – nothing like that." Says Hayashi. "It’s just that we are trying to make a whole game, a more exciting game that can be enjoyed by anyone." Hardcore fans of the series will still be able to appreciate what the series is about.

We'll hear more about Ninja Gaiden 3 at E3 next month.

Nintendo 3DS' First Bundle listed by GameStop

Here comes the first, that I would imagine, of many 3DS bundles. Spotted by Destructoid, it's slated for the same day of release of the actual system and comes bundled with Dead or Alive: Dimensions, Team Ninja's first handheld game for the 3DS, and first handheld game for the franchise.

The game itself comes out just a few days before the 3DS launch, but I find it kind of odd that this gets "uncovered" a bit too soon! Not to mention that there was no announcement of it either.

Ninja Gaiden III's First Teaser Trailer

Having been announced back at last year's Tokyo Game Show, not much has surfaced since then, besides the fact that it was at least being developed by Team Ninja. Obviously, they're most known for developing the old-school and new-school Ninja Gaiden games, along with the Dead or Alive series.

Again, not much has really surfaced, other than just now! For GDC (Game Developer's Conference), they released a teaser trailer. Again, much like the picture above when it first got announced, not much is seen. The only good thing about it is that the game industry is going to see the first gameplay of the game during this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, also known as E3.

For those who don't know, Tomonobu Itagaki left Team Ninja just a couple of years ago to form Vallhalla Game Studios. This'll be the first Ninja Gaiden game without him on board.

Having played Ninja Gaiden from the olden days, I'm looking forward to this and WILL play it when it comes out. I'm prepared for some rage quitting with this one, ha!
