3 DLC Packs for Fallout: New Vegas On The Way

With Fallout: New Vegas' DLC "Dead Money" released a while ago, we haven't heard much at all since, even after having been confirmed that there would be more DLC packs. Fallout 3, Bethesda's last Fallout game in the franchise had up to 4 DLC packs, so New Vegas had to follow up, and it could happen sooner than we thought!

Each month, including this month, we will be receiving 4 new DLC packs for Fallout: New Vegas. On May 17th, we'll receive "Honest Hearts." Up next would will be Honest Hearts, releaseing in June. Finally, in July, "The Lonesome Road" will be released.

Here are the details from the official press release:

Available on May 17, Honest Hearts takes you on an expedition to the unspoiled wilderness of Utah's Zion National Park. Things go horribly wrong when your caravan is ambushed by a tribal raiding band. As you try to find a way back to the Mojave, you become embroiled in a war between tribes and a conflict between a New Canaanite missionary and the mysterious Burned Man. The decisions you make will determine the fate of Zion.

In Old World Blues, releasing in June, you will discover how some of the Mojave's mutated monsters came to be when you unwittingly become a lab rat in a science experiment gone awry. You'll need to scour the Pre-War research centers of the Big Empty in search of technology to turn the tables on your kidnappers or join forces with them against an even greater threat.

Lonesome Road, available in July, brings the courier's story full circle when you are contacted by the original Courier Six, a man by the name of Ulysses who refused to deliver the Platinum Chip at the start of New Vegas. In his transmission, Ulysses promises the answer as to why, but only if you take one last job –a job that leads you into the depths of the hurricane-swept canyons of the Divide, a landscape torn apart by earthquakes and violent storms. The road to the Divide is a long and treacherous one, and of the few to ever walk the road, none have ever returned.

There are no exact release dates for the 2nd and 3rd DLC as far as we all know, but each DLC pack will be available on Xbox Live/Playstation Network (800 Microsoft Points/$10), and on PC (Steam and Direct2Drive).

First Look - Call of Duty: Black Ops "Escalation" DLC Pack

Previously seen as a leak and rumor, Treyarch has since confirmed that "Escalation" will be the next downloadable map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Like the last map pack, including the 2 that were released for Modern Warfare 2, which was developed by Infinity Ward, will be up for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15).

With 5 Maps already confirmed, it's nice to finally hear the details and see it all in action with the maps Zoo, Hotel, Convoy, and Stockpile. Nothing yet on the one map "Call of the Dead," but I'm pretty sure it'll be damn good! Let's go through a quick rundown of each map with a small description from the guys over at Treyarch.

Zoo - "Takes place in an abandoned Soviet zoo...it provides overwatch positions...there's a monorail that runs through the entire zoo...you can walk down most of the level to get advantage points"

Hotel - "Inspired by the vistas in Havana...flank paths and lots of interesting places to hide. If you can control the elevators, you control the upper floors...of course good sniper points.

Convoy - "Inspired by Soviet invasion at the time. Snipers will enjoy this map, but run-and-gunners will have no problem getting around the map quickly.

Stockpile - Probably offers the most variety across all 4 of maps...Operational garage doors protect [a] building [which] is the heart of the map."

Call of Duty: Black Ops "Escalation" DLC Info Leaked?

Accidently putting up on their website, GAME, an Australian video game retail store has released the date of what will be the next DLC Map Pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops. From what we know, like the last DLC pack, there will be 5 Maps for multiplayer, 4 of them being for the usual multiplayer fragging and one strictly for the Zombie mode. The list right below is as follows:

  • Seize the Zoo
  • Take the Hotel
  • Secure the Convoy
  • Raid the Stockpile
  • Survive Call of the Dead

As usual, the DLC Map Pack will be a timed exclusive and will be relesed on Xbox 360 first.
