Grand Theft Auto V "Well Under Way" and Likely to Release in 2012

You know Grand Theft Auto is Rockstar Games' flagship game. It always has been and it's kind of stupid if you're not assuming that they're making the next installment. And you know what? They are! GameSpot reports that sources from Take-Two Interactive have confirmed that Grand Theft Auto V is indeed underway at this moment. These sources also say that 2012 is "pretty likely" for its release.

Sometime earlier, about 3 months ago, rumor spread fast about Rockstar Games' registering domain names along with a leak of characters in GTAV. Including with the leak, there was talks about casting calls as well! Still, we don't know exactly where the game's setting will be, but we can only wait in anticipation for now.

E3 2011 Trailer Reveals XCOM Release Date

Originally revealed at last year's E3, XCOM was one interesting looking game. In my opinion, I actually think it flew under everyone's radar. I guess it's probably because that, even during it's first unveiling, that it wouldn't come out until 2012. That's not stopping 2K Marin from putting up a trailer to remind everyone or at least turn heads over to their direction because this game will probably be one of the best games, in my opinion, to come out in 2012.

XCOM is set to release on March 6, 2012.

One thing that I do find very interesting is the fact that the fans of the original are really having a huge backlash against 2K Games for making this reimaging of the original into a FPS. Honestly, having not played the original, this looks awesome, but it doesn't seem like everyone's too happy about this.

Soul Calibur V Arriving in 2012 for PS3 and Xbox 360

You know what? Not sure if it's just me, but fighting games seem to be coming back these days where FPS games have mostly taken over. Capcom had always been the king of the fighting genre, but Namco Bandai has always been know as being in 2nd place, sometimes, by fans, maybe better when it comes to their franchise, Tekken. However, that's not stopping Namco Bandai by outting their other fighting franchise, Soul Calibur from coming back either.

Soul Calibur V, the next installment in the series has been announced at Namco Bandai's "Level Up Dubai 2011" press event.

According to Kotaku, Daishi Odashima, the game's director has been tweeting details about what the story will entail, although, it's not much for now at least. The game will take place 17 years after Soul Calibur, where we will get to know a new character, Patroklos, the son of Sophitia and Rothion. Nightmare and Ziegfriend are confirmed to return in the roster and character creation from Soul Calibur IV will also return for you customizing junkies.

Here's the trailer that was shown off at the press event, which should definitely excite fighting game addicts!

Mass Effect 3 Delayed Into 2012

Bioware and Electronic Arts initially revealed that Mass Effect 3 would be released holiday season 2011, less than two years after Mass Effect 2's release. This announcement was met with glee from some gamers and speculation from others. Regardless of which side you were on you'll now have to wait a few more months to get your hands on the third act of the epic sci-fi RPG.

Casey Hudson, executive producer of ME3 released the news earlier today on the Bioware forums and Facebook page.

"Today we have confirmed that Mass Effect 3 will be released in the first three months of 2012." says Hudson "The development team is laser focused on making sure Mass Effect 3 is the biggest, boldest and best game in the series, ensuring that it exceeds everyone’s expectations.”

While it will take us a bit longer to get our hands on ME3, no one can argue that this delay will cause a slump of games this holiday season (I'm looking at you Skyrim).
