Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Will Have Kinect Support, Will Not Affect Core Game

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is set to ship later this year, and when it does it will have Kinect support.
Though Microsoft made no mention of this at this years E3, a recent GamesSpot interview with Microsoft Game Studios chief Phil Spencer revealed the intent to have Kinect in Halo.
"As a first party, we believe that Kinect will be important to all genres of games," said Spencer in the interview, "be it racing games with Forza, combat games like Ryse -- even games like Halo Anniversary has Kinect integration."
A later statement was released by 343 Industries community manager Jessica Shea via the Halo Waypoint message boards. The release provided a deal of clarity to the statement, and emphasized the word optional.
"The Kinect features we're exploring with Halo: Anniversary are optional and won't affect your core gameplay experience," said Shea. "Our mission, from day one, has been to deliver a faithful recreation of the original game, and we remain dedicated to seeing that through to completion."
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is set to be released November 15.
