Dead Rising 2: Case West Priced and Dated. Woo!

Today Capcom announced the release date and price for the next downloadable adventure in the Dead Rising series. Dead Rising 2: Case West the epilogue for Dead Rising 2 lets players join forces with everyone's favorite zombie killing photo journalist Frank West. Case West will be out on the 27th and will be priced at 800 microsoft points. Case West will be an exclusive to 360 like Case 0 and there is no word on if the game will later be made available for the Playstation 3.

Like most of you I am excited for this but the downside is that you will only be playing as Frank if you are doing coop. But if you are going it alone Chuck will magically have learned to take fancy pictures. Also, according to the picture you can go mad scientist on the zombies which I am certainly open to.

Poll: Biggest Disappointment of 2010

2010 has been a year that should have been awesome with games like Star Wars The Force Unleashed II, Red Dead, Rock Band 3, Medal of Honor, and Dead Rising 2 (just to name a few). But the problem with high expectation is that it can often lead to failure. Some of the games out this year have fallen into that category but which one is the biggest? You decide.

Dead Rising: Case West Announced

With the screaming success of Dead Rising Case Zero (500k downloads) Capcom has announced that another downloadable adventure is in the works. Dead Rising: Case West is about Chuck Greene working with the hero from the original Dead Rising Frank West and if anyone knows anything about zombies it's Mr. West. He's covered wars ya know.

This DLC will be the epilogue for the main game and as long there are no boss battles on a tank I will be a happy zombie. This announcement came after Capcom purchased DR: C0/DR2 developer Blue Castle Games who will soon become Capcom Games Vancouver. Case West like Zero will be exclusive to the 360 and there is nothing yet of if it will be a permanent exclusive and there is no release date yet but Dead Rising 2 will hold people over until their beloved photojournalist returns. My only question now is if or when Isabella will return. In the meantime here's the teaser from TGS.

Dead Rising: Case Zero Downloaded Over 300,000 Times

Website GamerBytes is reporting that the downloadable prequel to Dead Rising 2 has now been downloaded over 300,000 times. This means that even if Microsoft is their alleged 30% cut of all profits then Capcom is still pocketing an approx $1.15 million.

Capcom has sinced announced on their blog that these numbers are not "official" but serve as an early indication of success. Now the question remains is this going to be the gold standard for game demos? Or if Dead Rising 2 underperforms will the blame be placed on the $5 Demo that had just to much to offer?
