Mass Effect 3 Delayed Into 2012

Bioware and Electronic Arts initially revealed that Mass Effect 3 would be released holiday season 2011, less than two years after Mass Effect 2's release. This announcement was met with glee from some gamers and speculation from others. Regardless of which side you were on you'll now have to wait a few more months to get your hands on the third act of the epic sci-fi RPG.

Casey Hudson, executive producer of ME3 released the news earlier today on the Bioware forums and Facebook page.

"Today we have confirmed that Mass Effect 3 will be released in the first three months of 2012." says Hudson "The development team is laser focused on making sure Mass Effect 3 is the biggest, boldest and best game in the series, ensuring that it exceeds everyone’s expectations.”

While it will take us a bit longer to get our hands on ME3, no one can argue that this delay will cause a slump of games this holiday season (I'm looking at you Skyrim).

EA really seems to be pushing their biggest franchises to other sorts of media aren't they? It's been announced that EA and BioWare are having a collaboration which will give Mass Effect fans lots of emotions running across their minds: Mass Effect will have it's own feature-length anime movie, due for a 2012 release.

Details are scarce, but what's been confirmed is that this collaboration will involve Funimation Entertainment and T.O. Entertainment. It will also be released for digital and home release around summer.

Mass Effect 2 PS3 Details Revealed

Details on the PS3 version of the hit RPG Mass Effect 2 have been revealed. As suspected the DLC that has come out for the 360 version will be included. The biggest question is of course how will PS3 gamers be introduced to the story of Mass Effect 1 since it was published by Microsoft and obviously won't make it to Sonys big black box. The answer will disappoint you. Gamers will have the option to play an interactive comic that will connect ME1 to ME2. Also the "6 Hour Exclusive Mission" piece has been revealed and was little more than a translation error. BioWare producer Jesse Houston said that the 6 hours is all the DLC combined. Mass Effect 2 ships out in January for the Playstation 3.
