Nintendo Confirms New Console to be Revealed at E3

Nintendo confirmed a bunch of the rumors that have been circulating around the internet. In an investor note released alongside the companies fiscal earnings for the year the company stated that it "has decided to launch in 2012 a system to succeed Wii." The note also states that they will "show a playable model of the new system and announce more specifications at the E3 Expo."
Rumors have been flying around about this new system. Everything from being as powerful (perhaps more so) as the Xbox 360, and the Playstation 3, to having a touch screen enabled controller, as well as a codename "Project Cafe." Nothing Nintendo has released at this point affirms these rumors though.
A lot more can be expected come E3 this June 7-9.
