Diablo III Beta to Begin This Summer, Retail Release Possibly This Year?

Guess what long-awaited PC sequel is going to get a beta this summer! Diablo III, that's what! After years of fans itching for more dungeun crawling, hack-n-slashing, and just looting, it's about time that we have more info for this sequel. Rumored for many years and then officially announced in 2008, you can't help, but keep this on your radar, especially when there's a beta abound.

During a confernce call, Michael Morhaime announced that the beta would be during the summer between  July and Sepember. "I want to be clear that we do not have an official release date or window yet," Morhaime said. With betas always being the closest thing to playing the full game and the fact that betas these days come out sooner than most games, it's not something that you'd just want to brush off and wait. Eyes will be peeled for this one; no doubt about it.

Mentioned by Joystiq, Morhaime did say that the team is trying to get it released before 2012

Silicon Knights Still Plans To Finish Too Human Trilogy

When Too Human was announced (for the third time) back in 2005 it was said that the game would be a trilogy. However, when the game then hit multiple delays, followed by a release of very mixed reviews and game sales, and developer Silicon Knights waging a legal battle with Epic Games over development of the Unreadl Engine 3, it seemed that the unproduced sequels were dead and buried.

Yesterday though, two Silicon Knights employees made some comments about the future of the series.

Assistant Project Director Julian Spillane gave an interview with the "official" Silicon Knights community to address the sequels.

"Well, unfortunately we can’t talk about any of the unannounced games we’re currently working on," says Spillane, "but we can definitively say that we do plan on finishing the trilogy."

In a seperate instance company president Denis Dyack while speaking with Industry Gamers, said something very similar.

"We intend to finish the trilogy but no comment beyond that," says Dyack. "You know, there's very public litigation around that."

Silicon Knights seems certain Too Human 2&3 will happen, we'll have to see if they can actually deliver on that. Right now they're currently developing X-Men: Destiny for Activision.

Goodbye, Bizarre Creations

It's a sad day for developer Bizarre Creations. Today, they will officially be closing down. After having Activision put them up for sale, they unfortunately had no buyers to pick them up and continue developing very unique games, such as The Club and my personal favorite, Blur.

With many employees losing their jobs, their trailer editor put together a "Goodbye" video with their most recent games; Project Gotham Racing 4, Geometry Wars, 007: Bloodstone, Blur,  and The Club. Check it out!

Bizarre Creations had been located in Liverpool in the United Kingdom. Originally, they were founded back in 1994

Tony Hawk Series Discontinued for 2011

Following the news of Guitar Hero and True Crime: Hong Kong being killed it appears that even the legendary Tony Hawk isn't safe from the chopping block. Activision will publish no Skateboarding games in 2011 which means that the "Ride" peripheral will now do nothing more than take up space in your closet. This news comes a week after the announcement that Tony Hawk: Shred outsold more than Ubisoft's Shaun White's Skateboarding.
