Earlier this year, thanks to the waining sales of the music videogames, MTV parted ways with Harmonix and the Rock Band series. Harmonix isn't leaving the music game behind though, and in an interview with Game Informer from today, Chris Rigopulos VP of strategy and business development talked about the what the company has in store for the future.

While Harmonix has confirmed they'll be showing something at the upcoming E3 (with large speculation it will be the sequel to Dance Central), Rock Band 4 though, according to Rigopulos isn't happening anytime soon.

"We’re not planning a Rock Band 4 disc release in 2011." Says Rigopulos. "Rock Band 3 is a big game with lots of available music content and lots of new goals and challenges. We want to give our fans the time to explore that fully. But rest assured that Harmonix is still developing new ideas and concepts to advance the Rock Band franchise, and we look forward to sharing those when the time is right."

New DLC is still being released for Rock Band 3 with songs from The Foo Fighters, Ozzy Osbourne, and Lady Gaga coming this month. The game itself is also available to pick up for the low price of $19.99.
